Simon Diaz (1928-present). He is the most celebrate musician, writer and singer of popular Venezuelan gender and his work is considerate as one of the most important legacy for Venezuelan music as well as America’s music repertory.

Well-known for rescue Llanera’s tune, Simon Diaz, convinced people that Venezuelan music it’s an air of music characteristic that only it has, he dedicated to spread, study it and write it until build it into a real musical gender, gender that have manages to express many artist like Mercedes Sosa (Argentina), Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins and Joyce (Brazil), Joan Manuel Serrat (Spain), Danny Rivera, Ednita Nazario, Cheo Feliciano and Gilberto Santa Rosa (Puerto Rico), Franco de Vita (Venezuela), and many others.

So it, featured directors and writers from academic music, they took his music to compose orchestra songs, to seal the universal character of this gender.

Hermano, it’s a Venezuelan film (2010) directed by Marcel Rasquin, produced by Enrique Aguilar, and presented by A&B. it was awardwinner  as “Best Film” on the 32th Moscow Cinema Festival  and it was proposed to compete for the Oscar’s “Best Foreign Film” although it wasn’t succeed.

In a country were the most important sport is baseball, to brothers (Daniel and Julio) fight to go ahead through their favorite sport, soccer,  while living day by day among violence and poverty in a really dangerous neighborhood in Caracas.
